The Competition Council conducted unannounced inspections at Gaz Sud S.A. and its workplaces in Bucharest, Ilfov, Ialomita and Brasov within an investigation of a possible abuse of a dominant position.
According to a press release issued by the Competition Council, the investigation is focused on a possible abuse of a dominant position on the market of technical opinion services for projects, services of reception and commissioning of natural gas utilization facilities.
„The investigation will assess the possible imposition of unfair tariffs for providing those services to consumers who have connected to the natural gas supply system in the localities and geographical areas for which the company owns a distribution license,” the press release of the Competition Council states.
Relevant documents have been taken over to clarify the possible anticompetitive practice under consideration, based on a permit from the Court of Appeal, the Council mentions.
